Glénac
Our Riverly base is located at the confluence of the Oust and the Aff. It’s a perfect starting point for cruises through the green heart of Brittany.
Redon
Historic city with pedestrian streets and a marina in the heart of town. Explore its abbey, market, and waterside terraces.
Langon
An unusual site featuring an alignment of 28 standing stones known as the “Demoiselles de Langon.” Also of note: Saint-Pierre Church and the Sainte-Agathe Chapel.
Port de Roche
Visit the fortified farmhouse château and the unusual iron bridge, a remnant from the 1867 World Expo.
Guipry/Messac
See the Guipry windmills, the chapel of Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Port, and head 7 km to Lohéac to visit the automotive and vintage trades museum. Enjoy local dining, especially “La Minoterie,” which overlooks the Vilaine.
La Courbe
A presbytery and the Provostier Manor.
Pont‑Réan
A quaint historical bridge from the mid‑18th century.
Bruz
Make a detour to see the pink-veined schist church, rebuilt after the 1944 bombings and designed by a Rennes-based architect. Its unique feature is its mix of reinforced concrete and locally sourced marbled green and purple stone.
Rennes
The capital of Brittany, Rennes is a cultural gem with nearly 90 buildings listed as historic monuments. Highlights include the Parliament of Brittany, the Saint George Palace (a former abbey), Saint Peter’s Cathedral, and the Museum of Brittany. Enjoy a coffee break on a terrace, stroll through the lively pedestrian streets, or relax on one of the charming city squares. Then continue your houseboat cruise along the Ille River and the Ille-et-Rance Canal, passing through several quaint villages.
Dinan
Navigation to the sea isn’t possible due to tidal influence, but your boat journey brings you to Dinan,a beautiful final stop, rich in historical treasures. Don’t miss: the Basilica of Saint-Sauveur, the Duchesse Anne Museum, and the Cordeliers Convent. This marks the end of your trip on the Vilaine; from here, turn back toward Redon, then follow the Nantes–Brest Canal to return your boat in Glénac.
