Canal boat holidays on Lake Tisza

Lake Tisza, with many islands and connecting canals, is surrounded by many family-friendly towns and villages including Abádszalók, Tiszafüred, Kisköre and Poroszló. Your boating holiday on the Tisza also sees you cruise in the heart of the Hortobágy National Park, a recognised UNESCO World Heritage Site and a biodiversity reserve. As the largest area of open grassland in central Europe and known as the “Puszta” it is home to Hungarian oxen, water buffaloes and Racka sheep. If you’re lucky you’ll spot the “Csikos” who are herding these animals wearing their traditional horse-herdsmen costume in respect to their ancestors.
