As you continue along the Bodrog, the Red Tower (Vörös torony), a medieval keep from the 15th century, comes into view. Visit the Rákóczi Palace, rebuilt from the 16th century,a true Renaissance jewel. Other must-sees include the Reformed College (Református Kollégium), the Gothic Vártemplom, and the Végardó Fürdő thermal baths, great for a family break.

Your boat trip on the Bodrog River leads to Sátoraljaújhely, right by the Slovak border. Thrill-seekers will love the Zemplén Kalandpark amusement park, home to the longest summer bobsleigh track and ski lift in Hungary, plus zip lines and a ski station. You’ll then sail upstream on the Upper Tisza with your boat to reach Tokaj and continue down the Tisza further south.
